AUDITIONS FOR OCTOBER PRODUCTION

We have more auditions – so there’s plenty going on at the Arden these days!

Auditions are to be held on Sunday 13th July at 2.30 pm for WHOSE LIFE IS IT ANYWAY? by Brian Clark.  First produced in 1978 with Tom Conti in the lead.  There is a cast of nine men and five women, the main parts being Ken Harrison who spends the whole play lying in bed unable to move anything except his head; female Dr. Scott.   Ward Sister;  Trainee Nurse, Kay;  Orderly, John (both young);  and Dr. Emerson, Head Doctor are smaller parts, the characters popping in and out during the play.  The remaining parts are very small too, not very big and mainly come in the second act.
Synopsis - Ken has been severely injured in a car crash and only his brain functions normally.  He wishes to die but can only achieve this by discharging himself from hospital but is helpless to do so and has to gain the authorities' consent.  The play examines the moral and legal aspects of the situation.  Finally the matter is laid before a judge who hears the evidence and gives his verdict.
Ken is a very humorous character so there are quite a few laughs in the play.  It is a wonderful part for a man in his late 20s early 30s.  All the characters are interesting and real human beings.

Direction is by Val Greaves and performance dates are scheduled for week ending 11 October. All are welcome – whether interested in acting or any other involvement. For further information call Val on 01795 534903.

Arden Auditions

MURDER LOOMS!

It’s time for another good old-fashioned murder at the Arden . . . and auditions will be held at the Arden Theatre on Monday  June 30th at 7.30 pm for Brian Booth’s EVIL IN THE SUN. This is an Arden production to be staged early in November 2014.

When mysterious people book into a country pub for the weekend, their odd behaviour attracts the attention of the owner’s teenage children, Philip and Pippa. Pippa is convinced something evil is going to happen . . . and she has every reason to be concerned!

Carmel Park returns as director, following her successful directing debut with SECRETS AND LIES last year. She will be looking to cast

Philip, aged 15
Pippa, aged 13
5 Females
2 Males
and a Director of Mystery

Anyone interested in taking part or being involved in any way is welcome. Or contact Brian on 01795 534288 or info@awaydays.biz

ARDEN SOCIAL EVENING

Members and friends of the Arden gathered for a social evening with a party twist on Saturday 22nd March.
Brian Booth's work-in-progress Murder Mystery proved to be good fun and very well received.
We hope to repeat this exercise many times in the future as it is obviously a popular event!
